How to Stand

Posture is important.  With modern life, we often hunch forward and lean forward working on our computers, machinery and, in my case, on patients.

We generally have to do something to compensate for bad work postures.  Exercises and stretches (I will list some here soon)

How to analyze your posture:

Stand up straight and have a friend look at you from the side.

There are four points that should line up in a near vertical line:

  1. The hole in your ear.
  2. The tip of your shoulder.
  3. The hip of the femur where it protrudes out on the side of the buttock.
  4. The ankle bone - the high point on the outside.

From the front:

Look for hands at the sides with the palms facing the body.

Feet forward and parallel.
