Corner Stretches

Most of us do far too many things in front of our bodies that roll our shoulders forward, over stretch our back muscles and foreshorten our chest muscles. To compensate, do corner stretches:

  1. Find an empty corner or an open doorway.
  2. Stand out a ways.
  3. Put your hands out about head-height on the side walls or the door jam.
  4. Lean forward, allowing gravity to give your chest muscles a good stretch.  Do for at least a minute.
  5. Reposition your hands higher and repeat, stretching different fibers of the muscles.
