Basal Temperature Test

This is a test of your core temperature taken in the morning before you get up and start moving.  The muscle movements will warm you up, so it is important to do this before getting up.

  1. Have a bulb-type thermometer at your bedside (the electronic type don't work for this test).  Have it shaken down before hand.
  2. Wake up 10 minutes earlier than usual and place the bulb of the thermometer in your armpit.  Keep it there for the full 10 minutes.
  3. Record the reading.
  4. Do this for a number of mornings to note the trend. (Bad readings are common with a mis-position of the bulb.)

We are looking for a number from 97.8 to 98.2 degrees F.

Below this indicates a deficiency syndrome:

  • Blood Deficiency
  • Hypoadrenal
  • Hypothyroid
